What is the difference between a static IP address and a dynamic IP address?
A static IP address is non-changing, assigned to a customer for the length of their subscription of service. Dynamic IP addresses are pooled together and allocated as needed by requesting hosts through a DHCP server. Dynamic IP addresses can be allocated to different customers when they are not in use. IP addresses for residential customers are dynamically assigned. Because of DHCP, at present we will not support a static IP address for residential customers. You will be assigned an IP address at logon and will have the same IP address until you end your connection and/or restart your computer. Trailblazer business-plus packages provide a router, therefore, allowing a static IP address. If you are a business and are interested in our router solution, please contact an Everest Account Executive.
The main difference between Static and Dynamic IP:-
1) If you Reset the Modem/Router, IP address remains the same it is called Static IP address. Any Changes happens in your IP address, it is known as Dynamic IP address.
2)Static IP/Dedicated IP address is suitable only for Website and helps to get more Traffic whereas Dynamic IP address is used only for Browsing Purpose.
