Price, a solid top will cost between 30% and 40% more than an installed tile top. River Valley has a contract with a manufacturing company that makes only counter tops. The one foot squares are made to fit tightly together so that the grout seam is about 1/16 of an inch wide. They have a special fillet machined in to them to allow this closeness. Other manufactures’ require at least a 1/8 inch seam twice that of my manufacture. The bull nose edging is exactly like that of a solid panel and we can set the sink below the top of the granite just like the solid panel. These components cannot be purchased from a box store. So why would you want to spend more. If one of the tiles is damaged it can be replaced, the solid granite surface you are stuck with the problem, Again, here at River Valley because of our relationship with the manufacture our pricing is very good.
