What is the difference between a solicited and an unsolicited work?

0

If a record label takes unsolicited work (which is rare) this means that any artist can submit their demo with the hopes that someone will listen to it eventually. If a record label only accepts solicited work this means that they only take demos that they specifically request from an artist, qualified Manager, Agent, or Entertainment Attorney. Moreover, if you send a demo to a record label that has not been requested you can be sure that it will be discarded or returned back to you unopened.
