What is the difference between a Roth IRA and a Roth 403(b)?
• Roth IRA contributions are limited to $4000 ($5000 for persons age 50 or older). 403(b) plan contributions (inclusive of Roth and pre-tax) are allowed up to $15,500 ($20,500 for persons age 50 or older). • Some individuals are not allowed to participate in a Roth IRA due to income limits. There are no income restrictions under a 403(b) plan. • Roth 403(b) contributions can be made via payroll deduction. Roth IRA contributions are not permitted via ISU payroll deduction.
