ROADIE is a way of life, a calling, a life style, a chosen path. Technician is a job. A ROADIE can also be a technician (and usually is) A Technician isn’t always a ROADIE. Examples: A ROADIE “gets” the movie Spinal Tap A Technician either hasn’t seen it or thinks it’s sophomoric A ROADIE still gets misty when he hears “Rosie” by Jackson Browne A Technician either hasn’t listened to it or thinks it’s sophomoric A ROADIE has used “alligator clips” in an emergency situation A Technician would only consider “mil-spec” solder connections despite the emergency.
