What is the difference between a RN & ADN?

0

The RN (Registered Nurse) is the title for all levels of nursing starting with the ADN. Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) are not Registered Nurses. The ADN (the A.S, Associate in Science or Associate Degree in Nursing) is the entry level of the Registered Nurse. The RN learns the basic nursing concepts and skills with an emphasis on integrating nursing judgment, problem solving, communication skills and leadership and supervision in the provision of patient care.
