A retrievable bridge plug can be removed from the wellbore and re-used. A drillable bridge plug is a permanent plugging device that can only be removed from the wellbore by drilling it and, therefore, destroying it in the process. The pieces of the drillable plug are circulated back to surface in the drilling fluid.
