What is the difference between a resident fee and non-resident fee and why do non-residents pay more?
(top) Residents of Half Moon Bay reside within the city limits and non-residents reside in the unincorporated areas of San Mateo County which includes all areas north of Medio in Miramar and south of Miramontes Point Road (excluding the west side). Non-residents play taxes directly to the county and do not directly support services, therefore, the City has implemented a $10 non-resident fee to offset the absence of tax base support for recreation services.
