What is the difference between a remote computer lab connection and a remote application connection?
On Windows clients: Remote lab connections connect you to a full desktop, just like any typical computer experience. Remote applications allow a program to be run off of a remote computer, but appear as if they are running locally on your computer. Although remote applications appear to be running on your computer, the application will only have access to the remote file system (namely your personal storage on the Q: drive). On Mac clients: Remote lab connections connect you to a full desktop, just like any typical computer experience. Remote application connections function exactly the same as remote lab connections on a Mac, due to the Mac version of the remote desktop client. In other words, connecting to a remote application on a Mac will log you onto the server (just like a remote lab connection) and you will have to manually run the application from the start menu.
