What is the difference between a registrant and a registrar?

0

Registrant refers to the person who registered and owns the domain (ie. you), whereas Registrar refers to the accredited organisation through which the domain is registered. How do I transfer from another registrar? Just select Transfer Domain from the menu, and see if your domain is eligible for transfer. Please note that in order to transfer a domain, it must be at least sixty days old, must be a valid existing (unexpired) domain and there must not be a dispute over the domains ownership. A domain transfer isn’t as straight forward as a new registration, and consists of the following steps: • Select transfer domain from the menu and enter details. You will have to fill out the standard registration forms, and pay just as you would a normal registration. For .au domains, you will need your existing domain password (this is not required for gTLD’s). • Upon successful completion of the above step, an email will be sent to the registered owner, asking them to approve the domain transfer.
