What is the difference between a Redicard and a Visa debit card?
Redicards can be used to withdraw cash from any ATM in Australia and to purchase goods or obtain ‘cash out’ from outlets using EFTPOS using a PIN. It can also be used for ATM withdrawals worldwide where the PLUS logo is displayed. A Visa debit card can be used worldwide wherever the VISA logo is displayed. It can also be used to make purchases over the phone and online. When you press ‘credit’ when purchasing with EFTPOS, the transaction will not count towards your monthly free withdrawal allocation, helping you avoid excess usage charges.
Redicards can be used to obtain cash from any ATM across Australia. You can use your CUA Redicard to purchase goods or obtain cash from outlets displaying the EFTPOS logo. Redicards can also be used to make deposits to or withdrawals from your CUA account at Australia Post offices displaying the Bank@Post logo. VISA cards can be used anywhere in the world where the VISA logo is displayed. You can also use your VISA card to make purchases over the phone or the internet. Although the funds used to purchase goods and obtain cash through your VISA (debit) card come from your CUA account, you can use the credit button at EFTPOS facilities which means the transaction won’t be counted as one of your free monthly transactions. Your CUA VISA card can also be used to access the funds in your CUA account in the same manner as Redicards.
