What is the difference between a primary source and a secondary soure for a bibliography format?

My Social Studies teacher wants the classs to do a 3 sentence annotated bibliography. One of the sentences tells if the source (book or website) is a secondary or primary source. I don’t know the difference in between the two. Please help! It’s due tomorrow! Thanks!
