What is the difference between a pre-defined format and a pass-thru wiegand format?
The Bioscrypt Veri-Series readers support seven pre-defined wiegand formats. These are formats in which Bioscrypt has intimate knowledge of the structure of the format, including parity calculation, facility code start and length, etc. Due to this, Bioscrypt can fully support pre-defined formats which allows for additional options such as setting an alternate facility code or fail options. Pass-thru wiegand formats are designed to allow the customer to configure in a format that is not one of the seven pre-defined formats. This allows for expanded capability and support for a multitude of formats. In order to support a pass-thru format, it must be binary, non-encrypted and contiguous with no more than 64 bits total in the string. To configure a pass-thru format you must set the total number of bits in the string (Total Bits), the number of bits (length) allocated to the ID portion (Num ID Bits), and the start position for the id portion (Start ID Bit). Please note that the Start ID Bit
