What is the difference between a pole tent and a frame tent?

• Pole tents have at least one middle pole and can only be setup on grass. Pole tents need to be on as level a surface as possible, but can conform to small dips and level changes. Also please allow at least 1.5 feet clearance on each side of the tent for ground stakes to properly secure the tent. For example, if you order a 20X30 tent, please ensure that there is at least a 23 foot by 33 foot area cleared for the tent. Frame tents can be set up on pavement or grass and do not have any middle poles. However the area needs to be as close to level as possible because frame tents cannot conform to dips and changes in level as easily as pole tents can. Please allow at least 1.5 feet of clearance on each side for ground stakes or water barrels.
