A Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) has two years of college and earns an Associate of Applied Science Degree, is able to perform routine treatment procedures and measurements, assist the Physical Therapist with complex procedures, and perform educational duties in relation to patient care. A Physical Therapist Assistant works under the supervision of a Physical Therapist. The Physical Therapist earns either a Masters or Doctoral entry degree and is responsible for patient evaluation, plan of care and supervision of patient treatment.
