What is the difference between a pav setting and a bezel setting?
In a pav setting, each stone is set using tiny gold grains that hold the stone. Generally, by extension a “pav” jewel holds several stones, all of which are set using this method and placed closely together. In the bezel setting, the stone is set using extremely thin gold “wings” that overlap the edge of the stone continuously. This setting is normally used for jewelry to enhance a single stone, held only by polished gold, in the best possible light.
