What is the difference between a password and an extended pass-phrase?

A password allows identifying yourself to a third party. In Olmek’s case the “password” is associated to each personal key. No third party knows it or possesses a copy. This is why the term used is “pass-phrase” (which is kept encrypted in the personal key). The pass-phrase is called extended because the longer it is, the longer the time, with an exponential factor, it would take for someone to break it.
