What is the difference between a ormal tutor (experience teaching dyslexics) and someone with a specialist qualification?
A ‘normal’ tutor may have experience in teaching literacy and also dyslexics, but a qualified dyslexia teacher (with a Post Graduate Certificate or Diploma in Specific Learning Difficulties) has the knowledge and expertise to teach with the correct methods to achieve success. They have knowledge of how the brain works, how people with a learning difficulty learn and the most effective teaching methods.
