What is the difference between a mentor and a proctor?
A mentor is an AFIP Certified and approved individual who will provide assistance if you have any questions about the material you are studying. In most cases, this individual acts as the proctor, as well. If you do not have a mentor, you may contact AFIP if you have any questions. A proctor is an AFIP Certified and approved individual who administers the final exam. This person will be present during your entire testing session to answer any questions you have and to ensure the integrity of the certification process. This person is not to provide you with any answers to test questions, should not allow anyone else to do so, and should not allow you to use your book. Doing so could call into question both your certification and the certification of the proctor and all individuals tested under the supervision of that proctor.
