What is the difference between a long-haired and a short-haired Chihuahua?
A. They differ only in the length of their coat. Personalities are the same in both types. Expect to spend more time on grooming and cleaning up the long hairs, but you’ll have a longer and more luxurious coat to stroke! Long-hairs need frequent brushing, with attention to their bib (the furry part of the chest) to keep it from becoming matted. Another drawback to the longer coats is that occasionally fecal matter may get stuck on their “britches” so watch for this. It is a good idea to bathe the long-hairs more frequently also.
