What is the difference between a kennel assistant and a vet assistant?

0

Kennel assistant would basically be taking care of the animals in the kennel. Feeding, walking, watering, cleaning… They’d also have to do laundry, dishes, and general cleaning around the clinic. Most clinics hire high school students for this job The term veterinary assistant is a little vague, because every clinic defines it differently and not all clinics have them. At smaller 1 doctor clinics it’s often a kennel assistant/receptionist/technician in one. Larger 4+ doctor clinics will usually not have assistants. They’d have technicians, receptionists and kennel assistant instead of one person for all 3 jobs. At medium sized clinics they might have assistants that are kennel/receptionists and then a seperate technician. The education required depends on the clinic, but generally speaking only a high school diploma would be required.
