What is the difference between a J-hook and a circle hook?
• A:A circle hook has its point at a 90-degree angle to the shank of the hook. A j-hook has the hook point at less than a 90-degree angle and most often parallel to the shank. A J-hook is designed to stab and will set anywhere the point is able to contact A circle hook needs to have the face of the hook point encounter an edge which forces the hook to roll over and expose the hook point. A circle hook needs an edge to set-it cannot stab like a J-hook. Our fishing method changes the direction of hook set to take advantage of the improved hook setting edge found when pulling a circle hook towards the jaw from a starting position outside the mouth.
