What is the difference between a honda civic r type and s type?

The Type-S is a mildly ‘hotted up’ version of the standard Civic. It uses the 1.8 litre engine from other Civics in the range (138bhp) or a 2.2 turbo diesel, but adds sports suspension and most of the bodykit from the Type-R. On the Type-S the bodykit could be body coloured or it could be black plastic, depending on how the car was ordered when it was new. It could also have an optional GT pack (as could the Type-R) which gave you stuff like cruise control, automatic lights etc) The Type-R is the full on version, with a 2.0 engine producing near 200bhp. It’s got bigger wheels (18″ compared to 17″ on the Type-S) and its bodykit is always painted body colour. In addition to the Type-S the Type-R also has a large rear spoiler. That all assumes you’re talking about the 2005-2010 version of the Civic, the differences change if you’re talking about the older model, but the essence of it is still the same – the Type-S is the sporty version of the standard car, the Type-R is the really sporty
