What is the difference between a handsets main and secondary telephone numbers?

0

The main line is the phone number assigned to the handset unit, usually the number that appears on the Dterm screen when the handset is lifted. Some telephones have a secondary line. If you wish to have direct dial long distance available on a secondary line, the main line must also be activated. Please note, if the secondary line begins with the 386 prefix, direct dial long distance cannot be made available on that particular line.
