We have customer come in all the time and ask for a Gas Fireplace. This can be a basic term for so many applications. Our staff has the knowledge and years of experience to deduce exactly what you need for your situation. An actual Gas Fireplace in hearth terms means a fireplace where there is not an existing one in its place. A Gas Insert means just that, we are “inserting” the gas appliance into something that is already existing such as a wood burning fireplace. Gas Fireplaces are perfect for bedrooms, new construction, apartments and condos and any place where a fireplace in non-existent to start. A Gas Insert would be inserted into a wood burning fireplace plumbed for Natural or Propane Gas and uses the existing chimney to vent the exhaust pipe. Gas Fireplaces use a different venting system and can be vented straight up or out to the side. There are some although we don’t approve them, that can be vented downward.
