Although the duties of a gardener and a landscape contractor often overlap, their job descriptions are really quite different. If you are looking for someone to plant petunias and to lime your lawn you probably need a gardener. In general, they do planting and lawn care and other similar grounds maintenance services. The work of a landscape contractor is more extensive. Any improvement to your property, outside of the home itself is within the scope of most landscape contractors.
