What is the difference between a flexible coupling and a flexible hose?
The primary difference is overall length. A flexible coupling is used for short misalignment connections and is defined as a fitting less than 12-inch overall length. In general, a flexible hose is constructed of the same material, but starts at a minimum length of 18-inch and varies in wall thickness. Flexible hose is also available with a protective braiding to provide structural support and to minimize abrasion damage to the formed bellows.
