What is the difference between a DVS, AVS and an AEP?
– DVS: Vocational training program that leads to a diploma of vocational studies (DVS). Schedules and duration of the program vary. Consult the offers of service on Inforoute FPT. Some are offered as work-study options or are paired up with a DCS (DEP-DEC). Some are financed by Emploi-Qubec. – AVS: Vocational training program that leads to an attestation of vocational specialty (AVS). These programs are specialization programs that follow a DVS (example: Legal secretary offered after a DVS in Secretarial studies). They may also be offered to those who already have experience and competencies deemed equivalent to a DVS. – AEP: Short duration vocational training program that leads to an attestation d’tudes professionnelles (AEP). These programs are developed and put in place by school boards and aim to respond quickly to a regional need/market.
