A direct debit requires a UK current account and is governed by the direct debit guarantee. Card payment plans work in a similar manner but can offer greater flexibility for both the student and the University. Card payment plans are not covered by rules similar to the direct debit guarantee but the UWE, Bristol offers the same terms so students are not disadvantaged.
