What is the difference between a dietitian and a nutritionist in Ontario?

0

Nutritionists are not regulated by law and people do not require any training to call themselves nutritionists. There are no mandatory mechanisms to ensure that nutritionists are knowledgeable about nutrition and that they practice safely and ethically. The only exception to this is the profession of public health nutritionist; such a person must have a masters degree in nutrition and be registered with the College of Dietitians of Ontario (CDO).
