What is the difference between a dial-up and a dedicated account?

account dial-up difference

With a dial-up account you dial into a local bank, or hunt group, of modems. With a dedicated account you have a local modem that is dedicated for your use alone. Although we maintain a user to modem ratio of less than 10-1(well below industry average), there is still the chance during certain times of the day that you may experience an occasional busy signal with a dial-in account. With the dedicated account, you will not experience a busy signal because only you will use that phone line and modem. Also with a dedicated account you receive a static IP address.
