What is the difference between a DCS and an ACS?
– DCS: Technical training program that leads to a Diploma of Collegial Studies (DCS). These programs are generally three years long. Some are offered under the work-study option. Some are paired up with a DVS (DEP-DEC) and others with a Bachelor’s degree (DEC-BAC). – ACS: Technical training program that leads to an Attestation of Collegial Studies (ACS). These programs are part of the continueing education program and are offered to adults or to students that have already completed a DCS in the same sector. A student from the youth sector just finishing a SSD (secondary school diploma) cannot register for an ACS. ACS programs are generally one year long and are developed by the college. These programs are composed of technical competencies related to the profession and do not include mandatory courses in French, humanities, English, physical education or complementary courses. Certain training programs are financed by Emploi-Qubec. To find a college-level program, click on College Leve
