What is the difference between a dancer and choreographer?

0

The difference between a dancer and a choreographer is a dancer is someone who performs choreography that has been taught to them. A choreographer, on the other hand, is someone who actually creates the artistic movements that the dancers perform. Being a choreographer consists of staging, placing, costuming, lighting, camera angles, etc. What a lot of people do not realize is that choreography does not only have to do with dance. Choreography can be anything from giving a sequence on how someone walks from point A to B, to even a fight scene. Most choreographers are dancers as well, but there are some who don’t dance, but just coach the dancers through the choreography without dancing. I am very thankful to be a choreographer as well as a dancer because it exposes me to another dimension of the entertainment market.
