What is the difference between a cruise line a cruise ship concessionaire and a cruise ship employment agency?
Both cruise lines and cruise ship concessionaires employ people directly. In other words you will be working for them. Cruise ship concessionaires are like sub-contractors to the cruise line. They supply the cruise line with staff for particular departments on board their ships. Cruise ship employment agencies don’t employ you directly they just try to find cruise ship jobs for people looking to work on ships. All I can say regarding agencies is that there are thousands of them all over the world but very few good ones. Authentic agencies will not charge you money to get a job, they charge the cruise line itself so my only advice here is if the agency asks you for things like a deposit for a uniform or for money up front don’t use them. There are far too many scams in this area so beware. To cut a long story short best way to find a job on a cruise ship (as with most jobs) is to go directly to the employer and in this case that would be the cruise line or concessionaire, not an agent.
