What is the difference between a “core list” of classes in the ISM certificate program and the “required list” of classes from other UC Berkeley Extension certificate programs?

In the ISM certificate program, you are allowed to choose your classes in the core list as long as you take a total of at least six (6) semester units worth. Required lists in other certificate programs have to be fully completed as listed.
