What is the difference between a Convention and a Game-a-thon?

Conventions are very large, have food that you pay for, vendors, and generally you do more than just play games. Our game-a-thon (FallFest) is just a day we play paper-and-pencil RPGs and hopefully show others how fun it is without loosing a lot of time to it.
