What is the difference between a Contact and a Bookmarked Researcher?

Contacts are usually people you know, while Bookmarked Researchers are researchers you are interested in, but perhaps don’t know them. Contacts are included in your network lists, visualizations, and degrees of separation, etc., and Bookmarked Researchers are not. Email alerts will include new publication information for both your Contacts and Bookmarked Researchers, and Recommended Publications can come from any researcher. Also, your Contacts may be able to see more information about you compared to Bookmarked Researchers (depending on the privacy settings). For example, if you select “Allow access to my CV to direct contacts only”, a Bookmarked Researcher who is not also a Contact is not able to see your CV.
