What is the difference between a Casual Guide and an Egyptologist Guide?
Technically, an Egyptologist is licensed by the Government of Egypt after having graduated from an accredited course of study covering Egypt ‘s history, but concentrating on the Pharonic period. The Casual guide is a native English speaking foreigner who has lived here a long time, knows his/her way around the city and can teach you a great deal about the country (but probably not too much historical information), and what it is like to live overseas. Some people prefer the Casual guide over the Egyptologist because they aren’t really that interested to know all the names and dates, but want, an informal, relaxed tour of the places they want to see.
