What is the difference between a “boiler” and a hot water heater?

0

A boiler was used when steam was the preferred way to heat homes and larger buildings. This was when coal was cheap and the heater design and manufacturing was at its infancy. Plastic did not exist on the market so, the material of choice was cast iron and steel. With the introduction of plastic, it is now possible to heat areas with lower temperatures thus making a boiler obsolete. At lower temperatures any “heat maker” will perform more efficient thus making a “Water Heater” ideal for floor heating.
