What is the difference between a bar chart and a pie chart?

A StatTrac bar chart graphically represents the data in vertical column bars, where the horizontal x-axis contains the answer categories or responses, and the vertical y-axis marks the percentage level of all the responses for that question. The pie chart looks like a pie divided into slices, each representing the proportion of respondents giving a particular answer to the question. A pie chart is best used with questions where only one response is allowed and all the answers add up to 100 percent; it is less useful for questions allowing multiple responses. (With multiple response results, each percentage represents the proportion of the total number of all responses for that question; whereas, single response questions show the percentage of all respondents answering that question.) Note: To make the data labels for a pie chart fit more neatly on the page, simply move your cursor to the chart, hold down the left button and use your mouse to rotate the pie chart.
