What is the difference between a BA and a BS degree wise?

0

This won’t affect anything. The difference between a BA and a BS is usually solely in the subject matter. A BA is a bachelor of arts, and a BS is a bachelor of science degree. You would never find a BA in Physics or Chemistry, nor a BS in Philosophy or History. In the case of the social sciences, psychology and sociology are occasionally offered in both forms (although rarely at one school, so it is really not seen as being the student’s choic). In theory, a BS is more of a scientific research degree, and may focus more on statistics, while a BA program may see it as a more qualitative degree. However, these decisions may have been made many decades ago when the department was founded, and the current faculty may be taking a very different approach (the degree is almost never changed once it is established). I’ve never heard of it making any difference, either with employers or graduate schools.
