What is the differance between a 2005 jeep wrangler rubicon ed. and a 2005 wrangler x ed?

Steve A is close except I think he’s referring to new Rubicons. The 2005 version doesn’t have electric sway bar disconnects, nor the Electronic Stability Control. The rest is right on. If you off-road a lot, the difference is definitely worth it. If you have no off-roading experience or rarely take your Jeep off-road, it’s probably not. A Wrangler X is very capable for most off-road use, especially if you develop a little experience. The capability of a Rubicon is just plain amazing. As to electric disconnects and ESP: It takes less than 5 minutes to disconnect the sway bars. I’ve never even invested in the quick disconnects. The main advantage of electric sway bar disconnects would be not having to get down on the ground on rainy or snowy days. The ESP could be nice. I’ve never driven a car with ESP, but I’m pretty impressed with their concept of operation.
