What is the development status of the preventative vaccine candidate?
Our preventative HIV vaccine candidate has completed Phase 1 clinical testing trials in humans and it is currently in a Phase 2a clinical trial. This is being conducted and funded by the HIV Vaccine Trials Network (HVTN). This is the vaccine candidate for individuals who are infected with HIV. We have not conducted any human clinical trials of this candidate but the US Food and Drug Administration has allowed us to begin a phase 1 clinical trial. The next step in the process, local Institutional Review Board approval, has also been received. Institutional Review Boards were established to assure safety for individuals enrolled in clinical trials.
