What is the Development Plan for Calderdale and when was it approved?
The Replacement Calderdale Unitary Development Plan (UDP) is a land-use plan for the whole of Calderdale and consists of two parts: a Written Statement which sets out policies and proposals that establish a framework for the provision of new development and the protection of the historic and natural environment; and, a Proposals Map which provides a land use designation for every piece of land within the district and illustrates where the policies apply. The UDP is the most important consideration in the determination of planning applications. The Replacement Calderdale Unitary Development Plan (UDP) was adopted on 25th August 2006 and is now the sole statutory development plan for the district.
