What is the Design Review Committee?
The Design Review Committee (DRC) is the governing committee which reviews and approves home and landscape plans. All architectural plans must be approved by the DRC prior to construction. The DRC provides consistent standards which enhance each community’s character and encourages complimentary architecture. Attention to detail is maintained through a thoughtful design review process which provides guidelines for construction, materials, color palettes, tree preservation, and landscaping. The Design Review Committee functions on behalf of the Planning & Zoning Commission. The Committee is comprised of seven members, appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council. Several members of the Committee represent the architectural, landscape architectural and engineering professions. One member is a liaison between the Commission and the Committee.
