The DCFSA allows employees to set aside money on a pre-tax basis for eligible dependent care expenses. In order to participate, employees and, if married, their spouses, must both be working, and reimbursable expenses must be related to providing care for dependents under the age of 13, or a dependent who is physically or mentally incapable of self-care. Note: Employees who do not work during the summer may not claim dependent care expenses during the time they are not working unless they provide proof that they are actually working during their normal time off.
