What is the density of chlorine gas at 22.0 degrees celcius and 1.00 atm pressure?
In order to find the density I would need to know the number of grams and divide that by the volume in (cm^3 or mL). I could calculate the number of grams but I don’t know the volume of the gas. I would also need the volume to calculate the density. I would go like this: PV=nRT I would solve for n if I knew V. n=PV/RT Once I know n which is just the number of moles I could easily use the molar mass to find the number of grams and then I would divide that info by the volume of gas I had in mL. Basically what I am saying is I don’t know enough information to complete the problem. There are other ways to solve this problem with other gas laws but they would all involve additional assumptions which I can’t make given the lack of information.
