What is the demographic in Pacific and the surrounding area? Will it support the kind of growth we have projected?
Until recently, the Pacific area would have been classified as primarily an agricultural community tending toward an older average age. Recent residential growth in several newer subdivisions and a growing trend toward commercial development lead us to believe the area will become increasingly a suburban community that will attract individuals and families eager for a church family like ours. It’s reasonable to assume that numbers of de-churched and unchurched people—the kind of people NBLC wants to reach—will be among the new residents. Our history also supports our assumptions. A few years ago, members questioned whether the demographic of the Pacific area would support the move from the strip mall to our current building and location. When we moved, we thought our current building and a single service would meet our needs for a year or more. After two months, we needed to expand to two services.
