What is the defnition for Thrombosis?
A thrombosis is when the blood forms a clot and obstructs the flow of blood through the vein or a vital organ. It can be fatal and often the symptoms go unrecognised until it is too late. My mother died from cerebal thrombosis – the blood clot could have been travelling around her body for some time until it eventually found it’s way to the brain. A simple injury can cause it. Generally people who smoke, are overweight or have undergone surgery are vulnerable.
