What is the definition of the phrase “clinicaly dead”?
There are clinical signs that a physician looks for when he checks whether someone is alive or not. These include heartbeat, spontaneous respiration, response of the pupils to light etc. Someone is clinically unresponsive if the clinical signs confirm death but unwary physicians may occasionally be misled as near are conditions associated with enormously low metabolic rates in which the lenient may appear clinically dead but may restore your health or may be resuscitated. Sedative overdoses, drowning in cold marine are two conditions which come to mind but there are probably others.
